GBAOHN's STRUCTURED MENTORING PROGRAM

The GBAOHN Board is pleased to announce the establishment of a structured mentoring program. We wish to provide our members with resources to promote their careers in occupational health nursing and to promote occupational health nursing as a profession of choice.

This program is available to all members of GBAOHN. The purpose of the program is to provide an avenue for members to enhance their skills and learn various aspects of occupational health from other nurses who have developed expertise in certain areas.

The way this program will work is:

A profile of volunteer occupational health nurses with expertise in certain areas will be kept on file by a contact person.
The list of expertise will be published on the web page.
If a member needs skill development and a mentor with that skill is available, the member desiring mentorship can notify the contact person and the information will be taken and given to the mentor to check for availability.
If the mentor agrees to mentoring, the prospective mentee will be given the contact information.
The mentee will then take the initiative to contact the mentor and make their own mentoring arrangements and agreement.
